Pizza

Alas! The heavy work of taking the dock out is done. The lake was cool as our toes touched the water. Soon it felt warmer than the air. The sand is soft to the touch of our feet. One of the enjoyments of late summer lingers as we look across the lake. The sun is warming the air and glistening on the water. Now the docks are stacked on the shore ready for winter. I smell the aroma of pepperoni as we wait for the pizza that was promised for our hard work. We are at our favorite stop in Nisswa Minn. None other than Rafferty's!!  Our desert was to be across the street at"The Chocolate Ox", but they were closed. Maybe next time.   I welcome you to enjoy our fun in our Minnesota Lakes area! Nisswa is great fun. It is a neat town of the years past. Come and enjoy!

Celebrate United States of America

Let's celebrate our great nations birth on the 4th of July!  Thankyou to the men and women who made our country free.  We can enjoy our family, play games, swim in our beautiful lakes! I praise God for our founding Fathers who  put their trust in the Lord and even printed that on our money. IN GOD WE TRUST! Our country is so beautiful. From sea to shining sea! Music and words inspired by God  brought forth songs we grew up on and so love.  Thank you God we can trust in you!

Guess who I am?

It's been a long winter.  My bark seems very dry. Even  the color is dull and grey.    As the sun rises  the warmth radiates over my branches. The dew is glistening on the ground.  Before long the sun will bring forth my buds. Soft rain will fall and nourish my roots. Leaves will begin to appear and bring forth a new spring look. Very stylish for the season! I'll have to look and see what the ones next door are wearing. Well,. it looks like evergreen.. I'm sure glad I can shed my wardrobe and display a new one. As I look the other way spring is bursting every where,. as the forest comes alive sporting many shades of green . Spring, I welcome you!

Sring Break 2013

Where should we go? Hawaii--Disney? That is the question. We want to have family time to enjoy! What did you say? I thought I heard Branson. Yes that is where it will be. First stop is Faith Life Church. Then we rushed off to the Dixie Stampede! Next the Haygoods who danced a cajon style stomp. We could not leave town without seeing the Elvis impersonator. Even with his leg in a cast he could sit and shake!   The last group sang glory to God, honor to our flag and to the troops that fought to keep us free!
Lots of fun, laughter and  excitement will make great memories forever!

The fish house

The late afternoon sunlight casts shadows of soft pink mixed with a hint of violet shining on the snow on North Long Lake. The day is cold and crisp. The brisk wind is slowing down as the sun nears the horizon. Over to the west a snowmoble starts, it rumbels as the rider thrusts the throttle down. The gust of snow sprays in the air. Behind him sits the fish house that he will use tomorrow. This is a winter enjoyment in our beautiful lake country!

Night Sky

As I gaze at the January night sky ,the stars are outlined with dark blue of winter. Crisp is the air as I take a  deep breath. Slowly I turn and fix my eyes on the star filled night. The number of stars seem  to grow and grow in number.  The big dipper, just pops out. It's handel angeled downward. Is this what Abraham saw when he was promised decendants?    Excitment must have arose in his heart as  he  knew his old age!.
